Here’s a little step by step of my latest Polkadoodles DT Project.
This weeks design team challenge was to make an unusual shape card with flowers.
I decided to use these beautiful poppies from Blooms 6 Poppy bundle (links at bottom of the page) which are already coloured which means you can make cards really quickly if you need to.
I had some fancy heart nesting dies in my stash (I think they are an old Tonic range) so I cut 2 base shapes and created a card base by scoring the back piece and glueing them together. I also trimmed the point off the back piece so that it stands more easily.
I cut the decorative layer from black card and then I cut the smaller layer from both red and black then layered them together using foam pads.
Once I cut around the flower design I attached it using foam pads for added dimension.
I chose a sentiment from the Spring Gnome Fun Puns and simply cut it out with scissors as I wanted it to have slanted edges. The final step was to add some red and black gems for a bit of sparkle!
